History

Rick Bradley formed Chartwell Panel and Paint in 1973 in what was then a light industrial site in Clarkin Rd, Chartwell, hence the reason for the name it still carries today. Present owner Ross joined the team in 1975 and other than a 1 year break at the end of his apprenticeship has worked in the business ever since. The business shifted to Frankton in the late 1980’s and was located at 10 Lake Rd, then later shifted around the corner to 10 Empire St. Ross and Heather Cochran purchased the business from Rick in January 2001. With the installation of a large bake oven in the refinish shop it was necessary to move the repair shop into the adjacent building (12a Empire St) to provide more work area and a larger office area, later moving the office and the workshop into 8 Empire St. We now have a very prominent position on the corner of Empire St & Lake Road in Frankton.
